Join the biggest holiday kitchen party Calgary has ever seen - the spirit of the East Coast is coming to the Jack Singer Concert Hall! The Barra MacNeils: An East Coast Christmas is a musical potpourri of traditional MacNeil family favourites gleaned from Christmas ceilidhs, midnight masses, and the festive frolics that accompany each holiday season.

For more than three decades, The Barra MacNeils have been thrilling audiences with their unmatched showmanship and maritime charm. Including family members Kyle, Lucy, Sheumas, Stewart, Boyd, and Jamie, they have become an icon of Canada’s Celtic culture, with multiple East Coast Music Awards and Junos to their name.  In An East Coast Christmas, The Barra MacNeil family injects new life and energy into the sights and sounds of Christmas. One moment they’re sharing a rousing chorus, next a hauntingly beautiful Gaelic ballad, and then a flurry of foot-stomping instrumentals – all steeped in the tradition of Nova Scotia. The outside may be cold, but it will be their incredible harmonies that give you chills.

"For us it was very positive, the memories of the food, the music, and getting out to have a game of road hockey – all of those things that made Christmas special. When people come to the show, they get a sense of the joy of the season. It's very much a pleasure for us to do this show." – Stewart MacNeil

"With their captivating vocals, distinctive harmonies and extraordinary musicianship, The Barra inject new life and energy into the sights and sounds of Christmas." – Global News

"The show will take people musically from the 'kitchen party' atmosphere to the sounds of a midnight mass, and everything in between." – Stewart MacNeil
