ATP supports arts-learning and art for youth through a variety of programs, such as reduced ticket prices and student matinees.
Arts Commons Presents
Through live performances, Arts Commons Presents inspires the future creative thinkers of tomorrow, introducing students to the photographers, scientists, film makers, conservationists of the National Geographic Live series and to unique expertise of touring artists as part of Special Live Presentations for Students.
Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
Calgary Phil’s education and community programs bring music to more than 20,000 Albertans a year. Their youth and education offerings include PhilKids, which provides after-school music lessons, online school visits, education concerts, awards and scholarships for young musicians and the Morningside Music Bridge, an annual international summer training festival for outstanding young musicians.
Downstage
Downstage offers a variety of opportunities for students to exercise their creative skills. Most recently, Downstage launched Tales from the Student Mind, in March 2021, where five students created micro-plays for their social media and website platforms. Each student worked with a professional theatre mentor throughout the process.
One Yellow Rabbit
One Yellow Rabbit (OYR) is committed to supporting the future of arts through enriching educational opportunities for emerging and established artists. OYR educational programs have included: beautifulyoungartists – providing performance opportunities specifically for emerging artists ; Beautiful Young Students - workshops for high school and university students to learn from leading artists; and Summer Lab Intensive - an unconventional master class for actors, writers, directors, dancers and all artists interested in performance-based creative practice.
Theatre Calgary
Theatre Calgary provides opportunities for students, emerging talent, and established artists to learn more about theatre and their craft. Yearly offerings include their well-loved High School in Residence program, tcMentors program, the popular Shakespeare by the Bow, and a partnership with Broadway Dreams, which includes a full week of virtual master classes, featuring award-winning Broadway and Canadian actors, choreographers, casting agents and playwrights.
