ARTIST STATEMENT:

We perceive colour by the way things reflect light. These colours have a direct effect on ourselves, and are even capable of creating emotions. Artists portray the different emotions that can be experienced and the way in which colour is perceived through light and darkness as a reflection of life itself and its contrast. Colour is key to my work. 

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY:

Based in Calgary and originally from the city of San Salvador in El Salvador, Sara Sibrián likes to portray the contrast and vibrancy that characterizes her tropical culture. Daring, direct, and friendly, Sibrián likes to confront her view of adversity and find ways to represent it through art.
