ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: 

Markes Rakim is an emerging creative director based in Calgary, Alberta whose intention is to evolve as an artist through media, filmmaking, photography, poetry, and music. Throughout his life he has always considered himself an artist first and foremost. In April of 2016, after seeing Rihanna and Travis Scott live at the Saddledome, he decided to pursue art as a career. He first started making music with his friends in high school, releasing their music on Soundcloud, Youtube and other platforms. He later redirected his focus to cinema and photography in 2020 after working on several film productions in Vancouver, BC as a background actor. That experience sparked a keen interest in him to start digging deeper into his creativity and its possibilities. Markes encourages us to take a glimpse into his mind, and the world that he sees. From his childhood perspective to his current state of mind and what he sees for the future.
