ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Kloee Huberdeau (she/they) is an interdisciplinary performer, visual artist, and facilitator from Mohkinstsis, Treaty 7 Territory (colonially known as Calgary, Alberta). Her arts practice includes performance creation, musical and text-based theatre, writing and visual art. Her identity as an artist is defined by an ethos of openness and the aim to work in a variety of disciplines with equal commitment and enthusiasm. She studied Contemporary Performance Practice at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland from 2019-2022. Kloee feels passionately about drawing out and exploring our inner emotional worlds, often working with music to achieve this. In 2022, she undertook a practice-research project investigating the practices, beliefs, and feelings that can have inhibitive effects on a singing practice, which galvanized her to broaden this line of enquiry to a general arts scope. Some common aspects you may find in Kloee’s work are the desire for connection, exploration of environment and movement through a sensory-seeking lens, pop aesthetics, Big Sillies, and impeccable outfits. You can also find her performing under the drag moniker Lauryl Sulfate.
