Rune Bergmann and the Calgary Phil celebrate Anton Bruckner’s 200th birthday performing the composer’s Eighth Symphony that takes you on a sonic journey like no other, from the terrifying depths of despair to a breathtaking finale of transcendental magnificence. The concert opens with the brilliant violinist Karen Gomyo in Leonard Bernstein’s colourful Serenade — a series of musical dialogues in praise of love.
