A third generation Calgarian, Greg brings more than 35 years of professional experience working in Alberta’s performing arts industry. Greg joined Arts Commons after serving as Managing Director for Alberta Theatre Projects (ATP), and previously as ATP’s Resource Development Director. During his time with ATP he led the team that achieved a 98 percent increase in fundraising revenues, led the establishment of two endowment funds (the Alberta Theatre Projects Fund and the playRites Fund), and helped generate 2.5 million dollars in contributions from the community and government.

Prior to ATP, Greg was the Senior Director of Marketing, Development and Sales for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the Winspear Centre in Edmonton. Greg also served as Executive Director of Alberta Ballet from August 1989 - February 2001.

Throughout his career Greg has demonstrated the ability to balance artistic aspirations with appropriate risk management strategies to ensure growth and sustained financial viability.

In addition to his love for the arts, Greg is passionate about conservation and has travelled extensively to areas such as Borneo, Rwanda, and Thailand to fulfill his passion, helping support local efforts such as Dr. Biruté Galdikas’ groundbreaking work to protect Borneo’s orangutans.

Greg’s free time is spent with his partner, Greg, and their English Bulldog, Babyface, enjoying all that Calgary has to offer with most weekends spent enjoying the natural world in the Rocky Mountains.
