Moss grows in many different environments
It is usually green
In hot ecosystems, like prairies
It survives by becoming dormant

It helps to soak up rainfall
maintaining moisture in the soil below
keeping conditions around it humid
enabling other plants around it to thrive
this moss has adapted to cope with
lack of light

It is this adaptation that creates luminescence.
