Artist Statement for Etuaptmumk

Art has always been a way for me to express my ideas and bring my imagination to life. I love working with both drawing and painting because they allow me to create detailed designs and explore different colors, textures, and emotions in my work. My biggest inspiration comes from nature, architecture, and character creation. I am fascinated by the way natural landscapes flow and how buildings can have so much personality through their shapes and details. Character design, especially, is something I enjoy because it lets me tell stories through my art.

Being part of the IndigeSTEAM program is an exciting opportunity for me to grow as an artist. I am excited to connect with other young artists and gain insight into what it means to be an Indigenous artist in today’s world. My goal is to keep developing my own artistic style and to use my art as a way to share my perspective and creativity with others. I look forward to learning, growing, and finding new ways to express myself through my work.
