Artist Biography
Duke Domino is a Filipino-Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. With influences ranging from classic favourites such as the Beatles and the King of Pop Michael Jackson. He is an energetic, exciting, and bold rising act in Calgary's music scene, ready to entertain audiences all around!
He mainly produces Jazz, Blues, Rock and Pop inspired music. Through the use of 7th chords and catchy hooks, his songs are sure to have you grooving to the beat. His song "Thinking" received praise and was featured in CBC's Key of A with Tarik Robinson which he performed to large crowds at the famous Fiesta Filipino Festival.
From humble beginnings as a busker in Downtown Calgary, the Inglewood night market, CF Malls Canada and to iconic venues such as the King Eddy. Duke has performed at many venues, more notably, he performed for the amazing Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show where he sang his heart out to classic rock favourites such as "I wanna Rock" by Foreigner.
Speaking of rock, Duke is the frontman of the national touring rock n' roll band "The Definitive", where he is joined by good friends Dylan Jones (Guitar), Evan Burns (Bassist), and Vaughan Xavier (Drummer). Opening for popular rock acts Our Lady Peace, Headstones, I Mother Earth, Default, and Trooper. This electrifying group will be sure to get you dancing and grooving at every show!
Above all this, Duke is passionate in his artistry and loves to keep moving forward with exciting new adventures. He loves creating new music that aims to inspire, create memorable experiences to his audiences, and to build an interconnected community one performance at a time!
