Join award-winning poet Titilope Sonuga and powerhouse vocalist Riwo, for an intimate evening of poetry and song.
Bringing her critically acclaimed album Sis to life on stage, this special performance honours sisterhood as a sacred and expansive bond. Through stirring verse and soulful melodies, the evening weaves together stories of identity, friendship, grief, and redemption, creating space for reflection, connection, and healing.
Sonuga has scripted campaigns for Google, UN Women, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and more. Her plays include Sankofa, a libretto reimagining Igor Stravinski's L'histoire du Soldat, which premiered in Toronto in 2024 and was nominated for a Dora Award for Outstanding New Opera. She made history as the first poet to perform at a Nigerian presidential inauguration and served as the 9th Poet Laureate of the City of Edmonton where she currently resides.
