“A Conversation:  Alberta’s Priorities and Black Representation"

Wednesday, February 1, 2023

This is a conversation about Black representation and Alberta’s priorities. Held at Arts Commons, in the Engineered Air Theatre, this is a unique Black History Month event in Calgary. The result of work by of a group of Black progressive thinkers in Alberta, the event will provide objective commentary and education for the Black community in advance of the provincial election in May and balance the political discourse in Alberta to include the Black community and to avoid the often situation where the Black community is regarded as a monolith. At the heart of the panel conversation are the questions: “what are Alberta’s priorities”, “what is Black representation” and “how do we align Black representation with Alberta’s priorities”?
