Braving Beauty Cabaret gathers artists from the African and Afro-Caribbean diaspora and voices from the Indigenous Nations of Treaty 7 and leans into the common ground and beauty that connects them. The result is a blueprint for understanding through music, humour, and poetry.
Recorded live in the Engineered Air Theatre in Arts Commons and broadcast in the 2021-21 season of Arts Commons Presents, Braving Beauty Cabaret features performances by co-curators Marshall Vielle and Toyin Lamas, as well as Winner Brave, Stephanie Brave Rock, Alanna Bluebird, Elizabeth Ferguson-Breaker, Samuel Obadero, and Olivia Tail Feathers.
