Captured live the Jack Singer Concert Hall in August 2021, Alberta Jazz All-Stars is a never-before-seen collection of the province’s best jazz musicians led by two award-winning greats: Order of Canada recipient and alto sax player PJ Perry, and the "Elder statesman of Jazz Trumpet in Alberta," Al Muirhead.
These two stars have shared the stage and studio for six decades, building a legacy of musical excellence and showbiz tales. The Alberta Jazz All-Stars audience gets to hear that history come alive, through music and stories, in this performance.
This concert features Perry, Muirhead, and their dream team of bandmates: from trombonist Audrey Ochoa, to pianist Chris Andrew, to vocalist (and granddaughter of the Edmonton legend Tommy Banks) Mallory Chipman, plus Bob Tildesley, Dave Laing, Jim Brenan, Kodi Hutchinson, and Pat Belliveau.
