Happenings 10 Body Politics

 

CALGARY – Happenings 10 brings the discussion of gender, identity, sexuality, and race to the forefront with thought-provoking visual arts exhibitions, interactive creative stations, and live performances by Calgary artists. Join Arts Commons on Monday, November 27 for Happenings 10. 

Happenings 10 celebrates the artistic talents of Shawn Pinchbeck, Khrysta Lloren, Nine Kennedy, Chloe Kinsella, Haley Craw, Natalie Lauchlan, Pamela Norrish, BabyGurl Collective, Adam Bentley, Bianca Hlywa, Dick Averns, and May G N who currently have exhibitions in Arts Commons numerous galleries. 

Joining Arts Commons to celebrate visual art will be Patrick Moskwa with a ‘create your own alcohol ink drawing’ station in the Engineered Air Theatre lobby, Bianca Miranda and Keshia Cheesman performing an experimental piece about large bodies in the Arts Commons parkade accompanied by an oxygen station hosted by Bradley Dore and Kevin Jesuino with live trees and a performance piece by Natalie Lauchlan.  Back in the Engineered Air Theatre, Aran Wilkinson-Blanc with his unique new media video piece – Electric Mushrooms. 

There will also be live performances by Calgary musicians Soft Cure, spoken word artist Joshua Whitehead, special guests courtesy of Downstage Performance Theatre as well as a set by DJ Fudge Packer Friday - there is something for everyone at Happenings.
