This program brings artists to schools for one day or more to collaborate with students and teachers in engaging multidisciplinary, arts-based learning including visual art, drama, dance, music and multimedia. Highly customizable in scale, the Arts Learning team will work with individual requests to design and plan your artist-in-residence experience.
Students, teachers and professional artists use artistic creativity to better understand curriculum or inquiry-based topics that can be implemented with a single class or an entire school community.
We have helped hundreds of students in schools create a collective mural, or beautify their school grounds with art expressing themes of legacy, community and identity. We’ve also seen individual students make life-sized sculptures of their own bodies. With Arts Commons, their creative energy will explode off the page, light up the room, and amaze you!
Help your students explore any topic by creating a play. Using kinesthetic learning, enhance student explorations by allowing them to become the very people, animals, or even objects they are studying. Build confidence and comradery through the collaborative experience of theatre, and let their creativity run wild and stories be told through drama.
