Arts Commons Presents:
The Queen of Montreal Blues – Dawn Tyler Watson

CALGARY – Arts Commons Presents Canadian blues treasure Dawn Tyler Watson as part of PCL Blues on Friday, November 24 & Saturday, November 25 in the Engineered Air Theatre.

Fresh off a string of prestigious blues and folk music awards, including a first place win at the 2017 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Dawn Tyler Watson is a stage force to be reckoned with. She is currently nominated in four categories for the 2018 Maple Blues Awards including Entertainer of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of the Year, and her latest album Jawbreaker has received high critical acclaim.

About her International Blues Challenge win, Watson says, “I couldn’t believe it! I was surprised because here’s me, raised in southwestern Ontario, with 7 white Quebec boys playing our brand of Blues. We only had 10 minutes just to set up the band. I guess that’s where the word “challenge” comes in—hurry up and set up an eight-piece band in 10 minutes night after night!"

Join Arts Commons Presents for a night of sultry and sophisticated sass. Watch her perform live. Visit artscommons.ca for more information.
