Jack Singer Concert Hall
Due to overwhelming popular demand Ziggy Marley returns to Calgary on September 29, 2014 after his sold out 2013 concert in the Jack Singer Concert Hall! Bearing a famous surname and musical lineage, Marley has established his own presence on stages around the world for over a quarter-century.
A six-time Grammy award winner, Emmy winner, humanitarian, singer, songwriter and producer, Ziggy Marley has released twelve albums to much critical acclaim. His early immersion in music came at age ten when he sat in on recording sessions with his father, Bob Marley.
For Ziggy Marley, his latest vehicle of expression is the album Fly Rasta - representing a galactic sonic journey. Fly Rasta fulfills his mission by marrying Ziggy’s distinctive reggae sound with elements of psychedelica, rock, funk, soul and pop.
Opening Act: Jory Kinjo (J.k & the Relays) & Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers) with Burnis Stubbs
An alumni of our Alberta Music Series who also opened for BB King, Bad Religion and The Slackers, Calgarian Jory Kinjo opens for Ziggy Marley. We are excited to welcome him back for this fantastic night of reggae.
