Arts Commons Presents
Ledge Gallery: Sasha Foster
The Ledge Gallery (+15 level of Centre Court)
Dates: December 9, 2015 to February 29, 2016
Artist Reception: Happenings #3 in Upper Centre Court of Arts Commons on February 29 from 6-9pm
Beginning December 7th, Calgary artist Sasha Foster will take residence in The Ledge Gallery and transform the space into a psychedelic fantasy. Entitled FAR OUT, this ongoing exhibition project will take place at Arts Commons until February 29, 2015. Foster will use the first month and half of this exhibition as a studio to create the installation.
Using audio, visual and tactile encounters, Foster will carefully curate a kaleidoscopic experience for audiences that stimulate the senses. Passersby of the highly-trafficked +15 in Arts Commons will be offered a moment of escape from their daily routine with something strange and foreign. Taking inspiration and guidance from influential spatial designer Verner Panton and his “living sculptures”, Foster’s consideration of the walls, lights, furniture, will add to a complete package and experience that will be unified and inviting while simultaneously organic yet remain highly artificial.
Studio Hours will be posted weekly
