Ledge Gallery: Natalie Lauchlan
The Ledge Gallery (+15 level of Centre Court)
Dates: June 8 to August 28, 2015
Artist Reception: Thursday, August 27 from 5 – 8 pm, Upper Centre Court
Natalie Lauchlan creates a new work at her residency in the Ledge Gallery, which will be exhibited from August 1 - August 28, 2015. Lauchlan will be drawing from the history of the building and people working within it as inspiration for her piece - explore.interrupt.interact.
Working in performance in and around the building, Lauchlan is exploring the ways the Arts Commons fits into the city, the way Lauchlan has looked for a sense of belonging within her own life. Creating opportunities for the public to happen upon her work, interrupting their daily routines and allowing for the opportunity to interact with art outside of an institution. Her final installation will include the documentation of these pieces in a final installation within the Ledge Gallery displayed throughout the month of August. Lauchlan will be giving an artist talk at the closing reception at the Ledge Gallery August 27th.
