Gallery of Alberta Media Arts (GAMA) presents:
From August 22 – November 13, three short films will be presented, Long Tracer created by Nika Blasser, Spectator or Storyteller created by Jenna Braid and Accumulated Imperfection created by Aran Wilkinson-Blanc.
Long Tracer is a meditative study of light as a communicator of energy. Nika Blasser has pieced together a sequence of light studies that arc and crescendo much like a dance or a musical arrangement, creating an optical dance. The second short film, Spectator or Storyteller, was created from spontaneous video footage recorded in Mexico City as an exploration of movement through urban spaces. It is a reflection on the fleeting, the transient, and the lost; the prospect of stillness and the motions of perpetual change. The final film, Accumulated Imperfection, deals with the internal and external, intimate and exposed, static and dynamic, and how we are connected to the world around us.
A special thank you to the following organizations for their support: EMMEDIA; Calgary Arts Development; Canada Council for the Arts; and Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA).
