Arts Commons is pleased to host Studio C in the Window Galleries, highlighting 10 years of impactful work in our community through encouraged artistic expression.
The exhibit features 30 artists in a range of mediums including painting, sculpture and photography which can be viewed for free at Arts Commons.
Since 2005, Studio C has created a forum through art for persons with disabilities, mental health barriers, Canadian newcomers, children, seniors, and youth at risk, demonstrating the value of artistic expression for all. Recent winner of the SANDSTONE City-builder award, Studio C clearly showcases the value of art and how it can change lives for the better in our city.
Since 2005, Studio C’s art team has been building inclusive and diverse communities through community collaborations, gallery exhibitions, and public art classes. Studio C fulfills its vision of art accessible to all by supporting artists with disabilities, mental health barriers, Canadian newcomers, children, seniors and youth at risk.
All Studio C staff are educated, professional and practicing artists in Calgary. Members of the team use their artistic talents and expertise for strong social impact. Collaborative art projects create shared experiences that challenge preconceived ideas, stereotypes and barriers to inclusive communities and workplaces.
Studio C contributes to Calgary’s cultural legacy as a diverse and inclusive city, and recently won the CCVO Innovation award and the SANDSTONE City-builder award.
